Once again Wideham Farm’s huge paddock was transformed into a brilliant sporting event. Nearest the wood was the event village, 20 bands exhibiting their products, food and coffee too.

Jacob Vaughan became the 2022 British Gravel champion after an outstanding race at the King’s Cup on Saturday. The Saint Piran rider was perfectly positioned when he came to the final corner, emerging from a wheel to open his sprint and win by a clear margin.

It was double success in the King’s Cup Senior women’s race on Saturday. Tiffany Kemp won the race, but home rider Danni Shrosbree won the national title, finishing a very close second to the South African woman.

In its second year, the British Gravel Championships is growing and has attracted more big names for its second edition. That means competition for the overall title and age group jerseys should be hotter than ever before.
